My journey in France...

The sights

From Dinan to Cap Fréhel (June 17th 2000). Last time, I went to the La Latte fort. To go there, I passed by Dinan, but without stopping. This time, I took a break in order to take some shots with my camera. Then, I went on by the same road that lead to the La Latte fort, and went to the Fréhel Cape.

To go to Dinan, one can take the 137 National road that originates from Rennes, and then take the 794 Department road.

Dinan

A pan view of downtown Dinan.

I must say I had difficulties mounting the panoramic images in this page. The defects had a tendency to show up more than usual, compared to those realized before.

Some other images of Dinan, took while going to the Rance river's viaduct.

Dinan is a fortified city. All along its perimeter, we can see ramparts and towers.

To go to the viaduct, we must wind around those fortifications. To the Southern side of Dinan flows the Rance river. This one causes a difference in height of few hundred meters, from each side of its shore.

One of Dinan's points of interest is certainly the viaduct that crosses the Rance river.

From the viaduct, I went back up to the Old-Dinan. There, are some ancient housings still occupied today.

Urban houses of that time were built in such a way that, as new storeys were rising up, the more they were closing over the street.

Cap Fréhel

From Dinan, we go to Plancoët, and from there, toward Guildo. From guildo, we go to Matignon and we follow the road signs for Cap Fréhel.

Cap Fréhel's panoramic view, with its prominent reef: perfect for extreme water-ski jumping...

Just behind this pan stands the Cap Fréhel's light house. We can see it here, taken while coming back from the cape.

Not far from there, a view on the coast.

Thos two images are in landscape format, with a resolution of 1024x768. Ideal for your computer's background screen.
